ABOUT
Black Pattern Records is a House Music label founded in December 2022 by Mathis Vuilleumier. The label focuses on disco, funk and deep sounds inspired by the French Touch movements of the 2000s.
Mathis' main motivation in creating the label was to support local artists from his region by helping them with the production, promotion and distribution of their musical projects. In this context, Black Pattern Records attaches great importance to the vinyl medium, which is now marginal in the music industry.
The main reason for this choice is that vinyl is a fairer economy than streaming, and enables artists' work to be better monetized and more profitable.
The second reason is that vinyl mastering standards (compression, limitation and volume) ensure maximum sound quality. In fact, major platforms like Spotify and Apple Music use audio formats (e.g. MP3) that compress the quality of audio files to save on data storage costs. This practice gets people used to listening to music in its poorest form. As music lovers and audiophiles, we're fighting against this !
Today, Black Pattern Records signs artists from Chicago to Ibiza and distributes their music worldwide. Vinyls pressed by Prime Direct Distribution in London are sent to France, England, Germany, Italy and even Japan to give their work the resonance it deserves.
